Atlassian for Jira

Recurring Issues for Jira

Create recurring Jira issues that respect your working calendar and read plain English, without data leaving Atlassian.

What it does

Jira still has no native way to create recurring issues, and the workarounds fall short. Recurring Issues schedules daily, weekly or monthly work with a real working calendar: it skips weekends and holidays, or moves a run to the previous or next working day, and can target the first, last or nth working day of the month. Every schedule runs in its own timezone, and you can describe it in plain English. Each run creates a full issue with sub-tasks, due dates, assignees and custom fields.

Key features

A working calendar that fits your team

Skip weekends and holidays, or roll to the previous or next working day. Target the first, last or nth working day of the month.

Say it in plain English

Type "every last working day of the month" and the app builds the precise rule, using Atlassian's Forge AI. The text never leaves Atlassian.

Full fidelity creation

Each run can create sub-tasks, set a due date, rotate assignees, apply labels and fill custom fields. Use {date} in the summary.

Runs on Atlassian

No external calls. Holidays are admin defined or imported from ICS, never fetched from a third party. Your data never leaves Atlassian.

Privacy & security

Built on Atlassian Forge and eligible for the Runs on Atlassian program. Encryption, hosting and authentication are handled by the Forge platform. Every read and write happens on behalf of the current user (scheduled creation runs as the app), so the app only ever touches issues within those permissions. No Atlassian or third-party credentials are collected.
