German address check: PLZ, city, Bundesland and street, offline
Every partner address checked against the PLZ-Leitzonen table and a PLZ / city reference, with a score, the issues found and a suggestion; your own provider key for an online check
Find the addresses that will come back as undeliverable before the letter goes out. The check splits street and house number, normalises abbreviations such as "Str.", tests the five-digit PLZ against the 96 assigned Leitzonen, derives the Bundesland and compares the city with the PLZ reference. Each check gets a quality score, a status and a suggested address; one click writes the corrected street and city back to the partner.
Key features
PLZ check
Five digits, and the Leitzone must exist: a PLZ such as 05123 is reported as not existing.
PLZ and city
The city is compared with the PLZ reference; a mismatch or an empty city gets the reference city as suggestion.
Street and house number
The street line is split, "Str." becomes "strasse", house numbers like 60/62 or 3a are parsed, a missing number is reported.
Bundesland
Derived from the PLZ and shown on the partner.
Score and status
Valid, corrected or invalid format with a 0 to 100 score and a deliverability grade in the report text.
Apply the suggestion
Writes the normalised street and, when the city was missing or did not match the PLZ, the reference city.
Batch and daily job
Check selected contacts in one go; a daily job checks German partners that were never checked or whose address changed since.
Online provider (BYOK)
Deutsche Post Adressfactory, Google Address Validation or your own REST endpoint with your own key; only managers see the key.

Questions
Does the offline check know every street?
No. It checks the PLZ, the Leitzone, the PLZ / city pair for the cities in the reference table and the street format; street-level verification needs the online provider.
Who can see the provider key?
Only members of the DE Address Validation manager group.
