Backflow Test Register
Backflow device register, annual tests and reports for the water authority
Plumbing firms testing backflow prevention assemblies handle hundreds of annual tests with strict reporting. Backflow Test Register keeps every device with its due date, records the test readings against the thresholds of your test procedure, blocks tests with an expired kit and prints the report for the water authority.
Key Features
Device register per site
Each device holds customer, site address, location, assembly type, size, make, model, serial, hazard, service type, water authority and account reference, with the full test history and the next due date on the same record.
Due dates and reminders
The next due date is one test interval after the last passed test (interval per device, default per assembly type). A reminder activity is created once per due date when it enters the reminder window.
Readings with pass/fail
Each assembly type lists its checks (for example check valve differentials and relief valve opening) with comparator, threshold and unit from your test procedure. A blank reading is not a zero reading; any failed check fails the test.
Kit and tester checks
A test cannot be completed when the test kit calibration has expired on the test date or the tester has no certificate number or an expired certificate; the tester's certificate number is stored on the test. Kits list their calibration due dates.
Repairs and retests
Failed tests get repair lines with parts, a repair quotation built from those parts for the customer, and a retest linked to the failed test, so the register shows how every failure was closed.
Test report PDF
One report per test with device, site, every reading against its requirement, repairs, kit and calibration date, tester certificate and the next due date. The requirement printed is the one the reading was judged against.
Due list, routes and submissions
The due list groups devices by route and technician; the route planner assigns a technician and prints a route sheet. The authority export writes a CSV of completed tests and marks them as submitted.
A completed test keeps its values
When a test is completed, each reading keeps the comparator, threshold and required flag it was judged against. Changing the thresholds of an assembly type later affects draft tests only; completed tests, their pass or fail lines and their reports stay as tested.
How It Works
- Enter your assembly types with the checks and thresholds of the test procedure you are certified to.
- Register the devices per customer site; due dates and reminders follow from the test interval.
- Plan routes from the due list and assign the technician.
- Record the readings on site; the kit calibration and the tester certificate are checked before completion.
- Failed tests get repairs, a repair quotation and a linked retest.
- Print the test report and export the completed tests for the water authority.
Use Cases
- ✓ Plumbing contractors running annual backflow testing programmes
- ✓ Testers who submit results to a water authority
- ✓ Facility maintenance teams with many assemblies on site
- ✓ Firms planning test routes by area
- ✓ Firms that must show which threshold a past test was judged against
- ✓ Repair teams quoting parts for failed assemblies

Why Choose Backflow Test Register
- No missed due dates: reminders and a due list per route
- Thresholds come from your procedure, not from the software
- Expired kits and certificates are blocked, not just warned
- Reports and authority files come from the same readings
- Completed tests keep the thresholds they were judged against
- Every retest is linked to the failure it closes
