Project Gantt & Dependency Planner adds a full OWL Gantt timeline to Project, with none of the Enterprise dependency. Typed Finish-to-Start/Start-to-Start/Finish-to-Finish/Start-to-Finish task dependencies drive a real forward/backward-pass scheduling engine, so critical path, slack and cascading reschedules work exactly like a textbook Critical Path Method chart.

Typed task dependencies
Link any two tasks of the same project with one of the four classic Precedence Diagramming Method relations, each with an optional lag or lead in days (negative allowed).
Own OWL Gantt timeline
A day-by-day or week-by-week timeline with SVG dependency arrows and drag-to-move bars, rendered entirely by this module as a client action from the Project form or the app menu, no Enterprise widget required.
Drag-to-reschedule with cascade
Dragging a task's bar to a new start date saves immediately and automatically pushes every downstream dependent task out just enough to respect its own dependency constraints, never pulling a task earlier on its own.
Forward/backward pass and critical path
Early start/finish and late start/finish are computed for every task from its dependency network; tasks with zero slack are flagged critical and highlighted on the timeline.
Dependency-cycle detection
Creating a dependency loop, directly or through a longer chain, is rejected with a clear validation error before it ever reaches the scheduler.
One-click schedule recalculation
A Recalculate Schedule button on the project re-runs the full forward/backward pass for every task, useful after bulk edits or importing a plan.
Import native Blocked-By dependencies
Turn any task's existing core Odoo Blocked By relation into a typed Finish-to-Start Gantt dependency with one click, so plans built before this module was installed are picked up by the scheduler.
Delayed critical-task alerts
A daily scheduled job flags every critical-path task that has slipped past its planned finish date, posting a chatter warning and scheduling a follow-up activity for its assignee.

Unlike a purely visual timeline widget, this module's scheduling logic is a genuine, unit-tested Critical Path Method engine: dependency type, lag/lead, forward/backward pass and cycle detection are all real graph computations, not cosmetic date offsets, so the critical path and slack figures it shows can be trusted for real planning decisions.
