For employees paid a sub-minimum cash wage with a claimed tip credit, the engine verifies that cash wage + tips reaches the applicable minimum wage for the hours worked and flags any shortfall the employer must make up (FLSA 3(m)).
Computes creditable tips
tips ABOVE the amount needed to bring each employee's wages up to the federal $5.15/hr Form 8846 floor, and applies the employer FICA rate (7.65%) to produce the worksheet credit per employee and per pool.
